EPISODE 2 – Rebellion Of the Assins
GENERAL MARKET CAPE COAST CASTLE 1874
Storyline:
The Assins rebel against Asante authority encouraged by British agents. The Asante army is sent south and lays siege at Cape Coast Castle where the rebels have retreated to. The British administrator negotiates for peace and the population around Cape Coast castle is taken captive as slaves to appease the king of Asante.
The Assin and the Adansi have long standing disagreements about land… In the time of Asantehene Osei Bonsu he attempts to resolve the dispute. The parties in the dispute, two Assin chiefs Aputai and Chibu against an Adansi chief. The Assin chiefs are not willing to resolve the dispute peacefully and engage in a series of acts that can only be interpreted as a declaration of war. Osei Bonsu is left with no choice but to send the Asante army to punish the culprits.
